ADVOCACY
Reviewing teaching and university operations is one of the core values of the academic student community. If there is room for improvement in any area, criticism must be brought from casual coffee table discussions to the awareness of the university staff. The voice of a large group carries more weight in advancing common interests than the opinions of individual students. This is why one of Kaplaaki’s most important functions is representing the interests of its members.
In Kaplaaki’s board, the responsible of academic affairs is handling all the matters related to student advocacy. Together, the responsible and the chair work in various committees and working groups, through which information about student issues is communicated to the members of Kaplaaki. Active communication is maintained with the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, other guilds, and our student union, LTKY.
Kaplaaki therefore has direct channels for various types of advocacy work. As a student, you can raise a matter that concerns you by contacting opinto@kaplaaki.fi. If you prefer, you can anonymously provide feedback on academic matters through the feedback channel for studies. You can also leave feedback in the feedback box located in Kaplaaki’s guild room.
